The most powerful word in marketing…

…will either launch a racing empire or beat me into submission. It’s not my stereotyped ethnic background that made me do it… but being offered thoroughbred broodmares in foal to good sires for FREE seemed too good an opportunity to pass up. So between the six of those and the three we already had, plus helping out Assaf with his mare gives us a total of ten! Now we have to arrange new breedings for 2018 and pay for the mares’ board, etc. Soon we will have new foals. We will have to start paying for them soon too. OY!

Our band of castoffs and claimers has not been winning races and the purses aren’t very large. Nonetheless, Southern Union, a horse we claimed 18 days ago, runs in the first race at Aqueduct tomorrow in a $25K claimer at 6 furlongs. He’s in tough. We can only cheer him on and hope that Assaf can improve his performance. We miss those photos in the Winner’s Circle! We’re #3 with Luis Reyes up in the irons.
Love Code and his friend are shipping to Virginia on Sunday. My Aunt Mims arrives in Virginia on Friday. She’s a filly sired by multi-million dollar winner, It’s My Lucky Day. We plan on visiting them at Sunny Dell Farm on December 18th. We’ll see Raging Cat and a yearling by Boys At Toscanova at Braeburn Training Center on the 17th. Then we fly out of Richmond to Orlando, drive to Ocala area and visit Aussie Ahvee, Tzipi and Mo Joy.

Lots of horses. Will any one of them be a champ. Certainly, they will all be champs in our dreams. Of course, very few dreams come true… but it does happen on occasion!
