ALLIE N’ KAT WINS!

Yes, you heard me right. The horse that lost by 40 lengths at Belmont was shipped to Presque Isle Downs in Pennsylvania. He ran a slightly longer race, 70 yards longer than his mile at Belmont. He won convincingly by 3 3/4 lengths.

I was going to ask Linda if there was a race for me to enter, since it looks like this is the week to run everyone!

I also wanted to ask her how she knew he would handle the distance after he collapsed in his first race but she’s quite busy, so I didn’t get to talk to her. I didn’t think it was possible, even at this smaller track with cheaper competition, small purse and a synthetic surface. Nice call, Linda!

Hay Field arrived at Dr. Hogan’s for turn-out. Dr. Hogan gave her a physical exam but found nothing to explain why Hay Field has become a head-case. She is tough to train, doesn’t want to run, etc. It’s hard to believe that when you visit her in a stall, she is a sweetheart! Reminds me of Hidden Music who fit the same description.

As you may remember, we’ve been having trouble with Ahvee’s Destiny getting in foal. As of last Tuesday, she is in foal. She’ll be tested again next Tuesday.

Her City Zip foal who is with her in Kentucky, has been under the weather and is on a regimen of anti-biotics. She’ll have her blood checked next week, as well. Her white cell count and fibrinogen were high.

If FlatteryWillGetYou is doing well, she will be pointed for The Victory Ride, a Grade 3 Stakes with a purse of $150,000 at 6 1/2 furlongs on July 9th, which is Belmont Derby Day.
