New Names as Belmont Begins

Racing Friday and Sunday!

Another Genius is entered on the Belmont grass for Friday at 7 furlongs with Jose Ortiz in the saddle. It’s the 8th race, a $35,000 claiming race, at 5:13 PM. Problem is the weather forecast… rain showers for Thursday and Friday. So, if the race comes off the turf, I’m sure we will scratch. In fact, Linda entered our friend, Aron’s horse,  Decorator Jenn, as an MTO in that race. This means she will run if the race comes off the grass (MTO = Main Track Only) and will be ridden by Jose.

On Sunday, Assaf will enter Hay Field in a $25,000 claiming race on the dirt. Assuming they use the race, she’ll be running. He believes she can do well on the dirt at this level. We’d tried her on the turf and she seemed to do better there. Let’s hope he’s right.

Daring Destiny is about ready to go back into training…

Like his mother, Ahvee’s Destiny, he likes to eat! Linda and Dr. Patty Hogan will decide if he’s ready to go. Then, he’ll work himself back into racing shape.

Ransom Note is ready to return as well…

Linda is aiming him for Aqueduct in November.

We promised you the names for the young ‘uns. So here they are:

Ahvee’s Destiny‘s youngest, by Eclipse Award Winner Honor Code, was foaled April 27th. We’ve named him Love Code.

We have two yearlings. Ahvee’s City Zip filly is being named Tzipi. While our Uncle Mo – Gold Anklet filly is named Mo Joy.

Our Posse – We Kept Her filly is 2 years old. Her name is now Hot Possebility. Hopefully, she’ll be racing before she turns 3.

If we run this weekend, you’ll surely get an update.
