AHVEE’S DESTINY! The winner of the $100,000 Satin & Lace Stakes.
The queen is back!! (credit to Tom Gregory for that phrase found in his immediate congrats).
What can I say. We were so-o-o nervous. Now, we’re so-o-o-o excited! You gotta love that horse.
The time seemed slow but when you finish in front, you don’t focus on the time. Harry Vega brought her out of the gate smartly, running with Silver Time. She settled in next to that one and pretty quickly assumed the lead. Turning into the stretch, she was in front, closest to the rail. She drew away by several lengths. As the run down the stretch continued, Proud Heiress charged up but could not threaten. Ahvee’s Destiny crossed the line 1 ¼ lengths in front. GO AHVEE!
