Jewish New Year, Ten Days of Pentinence, Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur)…

and a proposed race for Another Genius at Belmont on October 7th.

Lots of Jewish holidays, it’s a busy time of year for us. But, it’s always nice to contemplate another race. So, here’s the status rundown of our horses.

Another Genius, (3 yr. old filly) – Pointing to a 7 furlong race on the turf at Belmont on October 7th.

Our Caravan (5 yr. old gelding) – Should be ready to race by mid-October at Belmont.

Ransom Note (3 yr. old gelding) – Doing well in training. Might be ready for a race by end of October.

Hay Field (3 yr. old filly) – Will go back into training early in October. She’s still at Patty Hogan’s.

FlatteryWillGetYou (3 yr. old filly) – Recovering from surgery on both knees. Doing well. Back in training around mid-October.

Ramon Dominguez (2 yr. old gelding) – In training in Florida. Should come up north by November 1st.

Aussie Ahvee (yearling filly) – In training in Florida

Ahvee 2016 (weanling filly by City Zip) – In Ft. Edward, NY. Should be shipped to Florida next week.

Ahvee’s Destiny – In foal to Honor Code. Foaling date early April, 2017

Candy for Kisses – Retired after winning at first asking to become broodmare ~after February 15, 2017

When I put it on paper, it sounds exciting but one thing you learn is to stay reserved. Things change all the time… weather, health, injury, etc. So, this is where we are at this moment in time.

Now that the summer’s over, here’s a little review in pictures of Summer 2016 in Saratoga Springs:

There are many more happy moments but this is a smattering, mostly courtesy of Steve Haskin.

Here’s wishing you all a happy, healthy, successful Jewish new year. We’ll be in Saratoga for the weekend and the holiday. We’ll see the mares and say au revoir to the foal. And, of course, we’ll sit out on the patio and observe the horses training.
