Will he run or not?

Hear the Footsteps scheduled for Belmont’s grass late this afternoon

We’ve been here many times before. The worst time was when we were half-way to Harrisburg, PA’s Penn National Race Track and got a call from Linda that it was pouring at the track and they had taken Ahvee’s Destiny’s race off the grass, so she was scratching her from the race. We turned around and went home.

Today’s race is the 8th, 6 furlongs at 4:57 PM. His first race since October. At this point, all the races are still on the grass. Will the heavy rain stay away long enough for the race to run? We’ll just have to roll with the situation and plan on being there. Hope we can yell, GO FOOTSIE!

I don’t know if Linda will be there, since her Kid Cruz is running in the Preakness tomorrow at Pimlico in Baltimore. Good luck, Linda!

For the Preakness, we are going for an exacta box and maybe a trifecta box including, California Chrome, Dynamic Impact, Kid Cruz and probably Social Inclusion.

Brother Bob is running at Finger Lakes in tomorrow’s 9th race at 5 1/2 furlongs for a claiming price of $5000. Ugh!

Ahvee’s Destiny and her colt are heading home from Kentucky and should arrive at Rojan Farms tomorrow afternoon. We’ll probably go up to Saratoga after dinner on Saturday night and visit with them on Sunday. We have to get back to Stamford by 6PM. So it will be a quick visit. We are going to see the Florida bunch on Thursday when we attend a wedding there next weekend. On the harness front, Naugatuck ran poorly a week ago and will run again Saturday night. He will actually run against Red Star Tomahawk who got claimed from us last weekend. Eric may claim another horse this weekend.

Overshadowing all this exciting horse business is the June 6 due date of Arielle’s boy, our second grandson. Rhoda thinks she will be early, since Rhoda’s mom was 10 days early with her and Rhoda was 10 days early with Jonathan. We pray for an easy delivery and healthy mom and son… and we’re so excited. On top of everything else, they are coming to Stamford for a year tryout. So, I will be gaining two daughters, two grandsons and losing a wife!
