$ 3 MILLION DOLLAR POOL

FOR TODAY’S PICK 6 AT AQUEDUCT

We bought $16 worth of tickets and had the first five in a row. Yes, we went for all the favorites. Now, we needed the favorite in the last race to collect $2,498. It was not to be… but it was all very exciting and we collected a consolation prize of $41. Lots of fun and $25 profit. We’ll take it!

Hay Field — the filly who is sweet in her stall but is troubled about racing and even going out to train —

continued her churlish ways in a race yesterday at Aqueduct. She was a little slow getting out of the gate and gave up after a short time to finish last. In fact, I think she just finished the race.

We are contemplating what to do next… breed her, try her on the grass, put her in a cheap claimer? We’ll see.

Sunday brings us a first-time starter, Ransom Note. After all his physical and health problems, he’ll get to run at the very end of his 3-yr. old year. Yay for this handsome gelding.

Hope we can be cheering after the first race on Sunday. He’ll be ridden by Junior Alvarado, 6 furlongs on the Big A’s inner track. It’s the one they use all winter. He’s in post position number 4. We’ll be cheering him on!

Then, on Thursday, FlatteryWillGetYou returns to the track for the first-time since early July.

She’s won 4 out of 5 this year, so we’re excited to see her get back on the track. She’ll go 6 furlongs and, hopefully, it’ll be a happy day.By the way, each of the above photos was taken at Dr. Patty Hogan’s. It’s just a comment on a race horse’s life. Like most other great athletes, they need a lot of TLC from their physicians and trainers.

Racing at Aqueduct takes a 10 day break for the holidays. It resumes on December 29th. We’re hoping that Ramon Dominguez, Ahvee’s Destiny’s first-born, will be able to race before his 2-yr. old year is over.

I’ll wish you happy holidays now but expect to be back to you after the next races!
