A Few Words About Theater…

People want to know how to participate…

I guess the success of our Gloria Estefan musical, On Your Feet! and Peter & the Starcatcher winning 5 Tony awards and touring successfully all over the country have got people interested in our theater productions. So, I’ll tell you briefly about two that are imminent and, if you want to know more, just write afreedberg@maximumcompany.com or call 914-935-9800… or call the Queen of Broadway, our partner, Eva Price at 646-520-4950.

Let’s start with a Broadway/Off-Broadway combination… Dear Evan Hansen is the name of a $9 million musical that opens an OFF-Broadway run April 27th before it transfers to BROADWAY next season. So, you get both for less than the price of the average Broadway musical! Take action NOW! It received rave reviews in its Arena Stage run in Washington DC and got raves even from the NY Times. It’s about young “outsiders” who want to be “in” and what can happen to them in an internet-social media society. Led by the ground-breaking director of Rent and Next To Normal and composed by the team whose music wowed audiences of A Christmas Story and on NBC’s television show Smash, it breaks even at ~52% of capacity. We’d prefer $25K minimum but can take $12.5K. It’s happening now in prevues, so you can see what your investing in. Get in touch with us ASAP!

I say “silently” not only because much of the play is performed in total silence, but because in a year where such strong productions as HAMILTON, FUN HOME and THE HUMANS took much attention, SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS silently sold out its run (playing to over 105% capacity) and became a much buzzed about gem that people regretted they missed. It ended up on the Top Theater Lists of 2015 from The New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, The Guardian and The Advocate, in addition to much critical acclaim and a hugely positive audience response. Charles Isherwood suggested it should have been nominated for the Tony Award, even though it was not ON Broadway!

After its extremely limited 5-week run, SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS is a play that deserves a second LOUDER life in New York, and July 13th will mark our transfer to Off Broadway at The Signature Theater¹s Pershing Square Center. In addition, several theaters around the country are already clamoring to present SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS, so we are planning a great touring life to follow.

The return engagement will run for 14 weeks before launching a tour to regional theaters across the U.S. The total Capitalization is $650,000. With operating costs at $54,927 each week, SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS breaks even at 46% capacity and recoups at 77% capacity. The capitalization includes the touring capitalization, no additional investment needed! For $50K, you can be a listed Producer AND receive additional “kickers” on your investment, post recoupment. Minimum is $10K. Don’t wait, get in on this wonderful show NOW.  Here’s a link to the NY Times review:  http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/24/theater/review-small-mouth-sounds-silence-at-a-spiritual-spa.html?login=email
