Leaving for Africa

cricketheader

We’re going to miss the Tony Awards, even though our production of Oklahoma has 8 nominations…

Nicodemus may run in The True North, a grade 2 Stakes race on June 7 or the Metropolitan Mile, a Grade 1 Stakes race on Belmont Stakes day. If so, we’ll miss both and the Belmont Stakes, as well.

Hopefully, my back will hold up while we drive on dirt roads looking for animals. Otherwise, this could really be a problem. Not looking forward to the 20 hours of travel each way too.

Thanks for letting me complain. Now that it’s out of my system (again), I’ll try to have a good time!

Headlines:
Ahvee’s Destiny still in precarious situation but we’re trying Osphos medication and a Theraplate for standing vibrating exercise to help her.

My Sweet Kat was withdrawn from the Timonium sale because our consignor said we were unlikely to get our price. When Kat arrived at Linda’s, she had a little lameness on her left front, so she’s going to Clovis Crane in PA, who was the consignor, to rest for 30-45 days.

We bought into a German horse named Madita owned by Team Valor, who ran 2nd today in Germany at Dortmund. She will run one more time in Germany and then be shipped to Saratoga.

Alphalfa will probably run in his first race while we’re away.

Beyondelle and I Admire You will run out of town next week.

We saw Hay Field, who was recently claimed by Linda for other owners, at her barn on Monday. We said hello and gave her a treat.

BIGGEST HEADLINE:

Our son, Jonathan, gave Maren Roccamonte a beautiful ring in the shadow of the Western Wall (known as the Kotel) in Jerusalem Israel last week. We wish them a wonderful life together. We are all very excited!

Now, I hope to successfully deal with the long flights and have a good time in Tanzania without my back getting hurt. We return June 13.
