Loose Horse!

cricketheader

Naugatuck was going to race last Sunday. He was in his stall in the barn, when another horse got loose and started running around wildly. Naugatuck got upset, reared up and scraped his legs. Luckily, he was not badly injured but the veterenarian scratched  him from the race.

Eric’s truck and an innocent bystander were not so lucky. The horse ran past Eric’s truck and took the side-view mirror with him. Than, he proceeded to barrel into a woman who was knocked to the ground. She dislocated her shoulder and had lacerations and bruises.

Wild horses can be scary!

Executive Office who was scratched last Saturday because of running a fever, is scheduled for Sunday at Aqueduct. He tires at the end of his races, so the 6 1/2 furlong length may be too long for him. It would be nice if the jockey (Jockette for a woman?), Taylor Rice (Linda’s niece), could get him to relax and run near the lead, rather than on the lead. It’s a $25K claimer, race number 6, at about 3:45PM, from the #4 post position.

Next Friday (I mistakenly thought today was 20 days, but I’m a week short), we’ll find out whether Ahvee’s Destiny is “in foal” again. Scott Mallory has her at his farm in the Lexington, KY area and says she’s too aggressive with the other mares, so he keeps her and the colt together but segregated from the other mares.

Hear the Footsteps is in training at Belmont aiming for a May race on the grass at Belmont and Hidden Music has arrived at Belmont to go into training. A surgery decision on Jess Not Jesse will be made this weekend.

We’ll be trying to see the yearlings in Ocala in May. Hope it works out.

Have a lovely weekend!
